Feeder Clan preliminary plan
Pros and Cons of a Feeder Clan:
Pros -
There are a several ways for the sub-clan to help the main clan
Applicants who do not meet criteria for entering the main clan can become part of the feeder clan in order to gather strength and become accustomed to our rules and requirements. This would save us time and frustration in the main clan.
The sub-clan can be a gateway to filter new applicants, a qualified strong and active member from the sub-clan then can be a replacement when a member of the main clan left... or just to replace weaker and less active member of the main clan.
Members from sub-clan which is still in farming mode often get called to main clan, to help "feed" with high level troops donation as lvl 3 pekka and dragons, to help the main clan players who is trying to aim for higher level trophies save some extra time and elixir.
Main clan members who need an extended leave of absence or who become inactive can more to the feeder clan until they are ready to be active at the level to which we require.
Cons -
The prospect of anywhere from ten up to half of our current members splitting off to get it started is troublesome. This whole scheme seems to run contrary to what our current game philosophy. For the majority, it is about fellowship, not about becoming more competitive. A good member is not necessarily the one who can donate level 6 troops, it is the one whom you can enjoy having a discussion with while your army cooks.
We all know the value in being part of another clan like ours, but if the feeder clan was run properly, why would its members want to leave to join ours once they have found a great home? It could eventually hurt our clan: the clan that is supposed to be our source for new members becomes a place where those people don't want to leave only to start from scratch in ours
Who would run this clan? There is a preliminary plan that mentions a rotating leadership but that would put that main member in the situation of receiving low end troops and keep them out of the loop as far as clan happenings.
The changing of leadership also shows inconsistency or instability as well. Who would want to stay around for that. This also leads to the feeder clan being run slightly different with each changing of the guard, as we all have our own particular style of game play even though we all follow the same rules.
Communication between the two clans will be difficult as there is no current way to directly chat between clans.
Being the leader of a clan quickly becomes a full time job and requires one to be constantly vigilant as to the happenings with in the clan in order to govern it properly. This often times has the effect of distracting one from his/her game play.
A few possible guidelines:
-a member with multiple accounts should be the constant clan leader in order to maintain consistent standards
or
- voluntary for those in clan to move to feeder clan; would probably need a third of clan to move (who would join a feeder clan with one person (leader)?)
- have a leader and co-leader of feeder clan- leader and co-leader are rotational positions (2 months total)
- 1 month as co-leader then 1 month as leader); for example JJJJ leader, Dad co-leader for February; March Dad is leader, JJJJ goes back to main clan, and another original member in feeder clan becomes co-leader
- those who go to feeder clan do not have to come back to main clan if they do not want to
- those who join feeder clan do not have go up to main clan if they do not want to
- same rules of main clan apply to the feeder clan- leaders and co-leader must talk to each other in order to figure out issues and promote feeder members to main clan. As this is a "feeder" they should learn to play by our rules.
- The only possible exception to our rules might be an extended probationary period for low donators. This however will prolong their time in the feeder clan.
- main clan would no longer accept new members and would indicate the feeder clan to apply to in description
- main clan to stay full at 49 members promoting new member when space available; at first, this would not be the case in order to get feeder clan established; then once it is established, those in feeder clan who moved from main clan go back to main clan- rules for promoting members from feeder clan to main clan need to be established (by elder voting)
-members being sent from the feeder clan to the main clan will be sent with a password or phrase to make sure they are accepted and that they were actually in the feeder clan.
